Read the passage: Luke 8
v.11 1. God gives generously of His word to the heart of man.
(The seed is the word of God.)
v.12 2. God gives the opportunity for all mens’ hearing of the truth of scripture.
(Those by the way side are they that hear;)
v.12 3. God gives the choice to man- to listen to the word of truth or to hear the
devil’s lies.
(Those by the way side are they that hear: then cometh the devil, and taketh
away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.)
v.13 4. The word requires true believing, trust that endures in the truth that
endures.
(They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with
joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of
temptation fall away.)
v.14 5. God permits no idolatry or worship of any other; His gift is exclusively
Himself, literally the life of Christ.
(And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth,
and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to
perfection.)
v.15 6. God rewards an honest and good heart with His gift of life.
(But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart,
having heard the word, keep it,)
v.15 7. The reward to the believer is great indeed.
v. 8- and bare fruit an hundredfold)
(and bring forth fruit with patience.)
