None Good but One Luke 18 19

Read the passage: Luke 11

(And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.)
  1. No man can claim goodness.

  2. To claim goodness is to usurp God’s position of good.

  3. To lie against the truth is to fall on the truth in judgment.

  4. The character of good is applicable only to the one who redeems man from his sin.

  5. The one trapped in sin could never be called good.

  6. Apart from the goodness of the Lord, there is no increase possible to man’s life
    .
  7. The term good is restricted to the work and person of deity; it is not man’s description at all.
It is not to be misapplied by men.
