God's Revelation to His Disciples Mark 9: 10-13

click to Read the passage: Mark 9  (a new browser window will open)

v 10 1) Sometimes God reveals things to us we don't yet understand.
(and they kept that saying to themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.)

v 10 2) Sometimes God reveals things too heavy for us at present.
Most of us don’t really look for the future, we are too concerned about now.

v 10 3) God must reveal truth to us though we don't understand.
Present faith is tomorrow’s precedent.

V 10 4) God must reveal truth to us to get us to grow.

V 10 5) God must reveal truth to us  to get us to seek Him and truth (questioning.)

V 11 6) God must reveal truth to us to encourage our turning to Christ as our source of counsel.
(and they asked him, saying, ••• )

v 12 7) God must reveal truth to us, something to help us prepare our heart for and before ministry.
(and He answered and told them, ••• and how it is written of the Son of man, ••• )

v12 8) God must reveal truth to us, something to pre-temper the message to come later
(Elijah verily cometh first, and restoreth all things;)
God is continually making us ready to live in the day which He has put us.

v12 9) God must reveal truth to us  to get us to focus on the record of His word
(and how it is written of the Son of man)
Truth brings enlightenment

v 13 10) God must reveal truth to us, to reveal nothing is in the way of His will coming to pass.
(But I say unto you, Elijah is indeed come, ... )
What is important to Christ?

v.37 1. That which is impossible to man.
(For with God nothing shall be impossible.)

v.38 2. That held in place by God's word.
(And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according
to thy word. And the angel departed from her.)

v.38 3. That precisely declared, even aforetime.
( according to thy word.)

v.28, 4. That in which God doesn't rely upon man, but uses man.
v.45 (And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored,
the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.)
(And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those
things which were told her from the Lord.)

v.45 5. That which is precisely fulfilled.
(…for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from
the lord.)

v.32 6. That which is unduplicable, unexcelled.
(He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord
God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David:)

(And He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His kingdom

Judges 16: 21-30

click to Read the passage: Judges 16  (a new browser window will open)

v.21 1. For the loss at the enemy’s hands.
(But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to
Gaza, and bound him with fetter of brass; and he did grind in the prison
house.)

v.21 2. For the abuse at the enemy’s hands.

v.21 3. For the forced labor, the denial of God given liberty, the forcing against
the will and direction of believing faith.
(though Samson was not expressing believing faith very well)

v.25 4. For the mockery of the enemy.
(And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for
Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the
prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the
pillars.)

v.27 5. For the intrusion of men before God-opposing God and God’s people.
(Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the
Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand
men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.)

v.30 6. For the servant’s own errors.
(And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself
with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people
that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than
they which he slew in his life.)

7. For the wicked’s claims to life apart from God.

Too Much Help Judges 7: 2

(And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many
for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves
against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.)

1. God’s people often think they need more help, but their conclusion is
measured by man’s presence.

2. In battle too many people may add unbelief and timidity to the work of God.

3. A display of the power of man may lead to man being credited.

4. When man gains credit, he neglects God.

5. When man gains credit, he loves himself.

6. When man gains credit he will fail in following battles.

7. God is committed to more than the present battle, He desires His people to
know and depend upon Him in all of life.

A Mother's View Luke 1: 38

click to Read the passage: Luke 1  (a new browser window will open)

(And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy
word. And the angel departed from her.)

1. Acknowledge you were individually handpicked by God to bring Him honor and
glory.

2. Know there will be enduring challenges that will take you beyond your own
abilities to understand and manage.

3. Accept your role of cooperation with God, not as director of outcomes.

4. Believe God has accepted responsibility to see the task through to the end.
He who hath begun a good work in you shall continue it unto that perfect day.
                2 Tim. 1: 12
Jude 24 (Now unto Him that is able to keep your from falling, and to present
you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.)

5. Any one battle is not conclusive, but does serve to reveal God’s faithful hand.

6. Only God can fashion and mold a life, a true heart; that is His concern and
handiwork.
There is but one potter.

7. Yours is a journey to enjoy.
1 Peter 1: 8 Your rejoicing is in He who is and shall be; He who rules and
blesses; He who is from everlasting; He who gives life forever.

8. Look through the challenges to see God’s greater power, commitment and work.
Abraham saw afar of as did all the prophets.

9. Know the end is better than the beginning.
Eccl. 7: 8 There is through your child in God’s hand, redeemed, life eternal, an
accomplishment to which you have a part that shall last forever and ever.

10. You are not raising Jesus, but are a mother of children to be raised for Jesus.

Once the Heart is Gone Judges 16: 18-20

click to Read the passage: Judges 16  (a new browser window will open)

v.18 1. Immediately the enemy strikes.
(And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and
called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath
shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her,
and brought money in their hand.)
v.19 2. The enemy provides a false contentment.
(And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and
she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head: and she began to
afflict him, and his strength went from him.)

v.19 3. The servant has abandoned his strength.

v.19 4. The enemy’s afflictions visit.

v.20 5. The enemy’s challenge is too much for the weak.
(And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of
his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself.
And he wist no that the Lord was departed from him.)

v.20 6. Now God given strength has abandoned the servant.

7. A warrior is fallen.
