The Real Source of Blessing Genesis 27: 28, 29

Read the passage Genesis 27

(Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, … and blessed be he that
  blesseth thee.)

1. It is not man's faithfulness that may be counted upon, but God's.

2. It is not man's favor that is first to be sought, but God's.

3. It is not man's pronouncement of blessing that makes one blessed, but
God's backing of the pronouncement.

4. It is not man's bargaining with God that counts, but God's covenant with man.

5. It is not man's binding of God that assures blessing, but God's binding of
Himself through free grace.

6. It is not man's accumulation of wealth that secures, but God's bestowal of
blessing.

7. It is not man's persuasion before God that gains, but it is the truth of the
word of God that God honors.
