The Basis of God's Acceptance Romans 8 36-39

Read the passage: Romans 8

(For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that
whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.)
John 3: 16
There is something about the love of God that exceeds man’s
comprehension, surely exceeding any deservedness on man’s part.

v.35 1. A love exceeding human understanding.
(Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? …)

2. A love exceeding sins’ debt.
pictured in John 3: 16

v.35 3. A love exceeding human experience.
(shall tribulation, or distress, …)

v.38 4. A love exceeding human authority.
(For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, …)

v.39 5. A love possessing perfect liberty.
(Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us
from the love of God, which)

v.39 6. A love God infuses into the life of the believer.

7. A love man cannot know or experience on his own.

Faithful in the Battle Joshua 10 8

Read the passage: Joshua 10

(And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.)
  1. God’s people fail in multiple ways, God never fails.
     i.e. Ch. 9

  2. Pressures mount against God’s people because of their omissions, yet, God abideth still as the God of His people.
    v. 1-6

  3. The victory is not in the hands of men but in the hands of God.

  4. God is still the initiator, though His followers sought to be the initiator.

  5. God still brings peace, though His followers made a wrong choice.

  6. God still brings the victory though His followers encumbered their freedom.

  7. God is still the opposer to His enemies and to their untruthfulness.

None Good but One Luke 18 19

Read the passage: Luke 11

(And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.)
  1. No man can claim goodness.

  2. To claim goodness is to usurp God’s position of good.

  3. To lie against the truth is to fall on the truth in judgment.

  4. The character of good is applicable only to the one who redeems man from his sin.

  5. The one trapped in sin could never be called good.

  6. Apart from the goodness of the Lord, there is no increase possible to man’s life
    .
  7. The term good is restricted to the work and person of deity; it is not man’s description at all.
It is not to be misapplied by men.

The Precision of Prayer Luke 11 11, 12

Read the passage: Luke 11

(If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish will he for a fish give him a serpent?) ( Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?)
  1. Prayer to God does not get side tracked somewhere else, lost in space.
    God hears.

  2. God doesn’t have backorders or substitutes.

  3. God doesn’t disappoint the one praying.

  4. God doesn’t give something that has no value for the need.
(will he give him a stone?)

  5. God doesn’t turn the believer’s petition to harm.
    (give him a serpent?)

  6. God responds in like kind, His law of harvesting.

  7. God responds generously, His character of goodness.
    God meets the need.

The Generosity of God's Grace Luke 8 11-15

Read the passage: Luke 8

v.11 1. God gives generously of His word to the heart of man.
(The seed is the word of God.)

v.12 2. God gives the opportunity for all mens’ hearing of the truth of scripture.
(Those by the way side are they that hear;)

v.12 3. God gives the choice to man- to listen to the word of truth or to hear the
devil’s lies.
(Those by the way side are they that hear: then cometh the devil, and taketh
away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.)

v.13 4. The word requires true believing, trust that endures in the truth that
  endures.
(They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with
joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of
temptation fall away.)

v.14 5. God permits no idolatry or worship of any other; His gift is exclusively
Himself, literally the life of Christ.
(And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth,
and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to
                perfection.)

v.15 6. God rewards an honest and good heart with His gift of life.
(But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart,
having heard the word, keep it,)

v.15 7. The reward to the believer is great indeed.
v. 8- and bare fruit an hundredfold)
(and bring forth fruit with patience.)

(My head with oil thou did not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet
with ointment.)

v.47 9. Relies on the generosity of Christ’s forgiveness.
(Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she
loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.)

Dwelling in Love 1 John 4 16

Read the passage: 1 John 4

(He that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.)

1) At salvation a believer is immersed in God's love.

2) Growing in grace involves growing in love.

3) The filling of love will result in an outflowing of love.

4) The out flowing of love will result in more infilling of God' s love.

5) God's way of loving a person is often through another person's life.

6) Love is not a reservoir to contain but a river to let flow.
The source of supply has no limit.

7) The evidence of God's presence is the purity of the love consistently shared with others.
