The Protection of Wisdom Daniel 2: 20-24

Read the passage Daniel 2

1)  God’s servant is adequately equipped for any visiting challenge.
20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:

2)  God’s servants need not back away from spiritual challenge, but look to God’s eternal truth and unsurpassed ways.
21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

3)  God’s servant understands God’s wisdom is all superior to any challenge man faces.   V.21

4)  God’s servant seeks God to reveal Himself to/before men so they might have opportunity to respond to the God of glory and eternity.
22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

5)  God’s servant goes forth with great spiritual confidence in God.
23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter.

6)  God’s servant willingly and delightedly enters into the court of man’s confusion and indifference and fear.
24 Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.

7)  God opens the door to His servant to tell the story of God, so secure, to those unbelieving in God. V. 24

(Children in whom was no blemish, but well favored, and skillful in all
wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such
as had ability in them to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might
teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.)
Especially gifted children

v.5 2. The enemy wants to act as provider for God’s children.

the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end
thereof they might stand before the king.)

Mishael, and Azariah:)
(v.7 Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto
Daniel the name of Belteshazzar: and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to
Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.)

v.8 4. The enemy wants God’s children to defile themselves in their daily walk.
(But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself …)

v.10 5. The enemy wants to dictate the spiritual diet of God’s children- to develop
their appetite.  make it fleshly instead of spiritual.
(And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who
hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces
worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make
me endanger my head to the king.)

v.10 6. The enemy wants God’s children to conform to his standard.

v.20 7. The enemy intends to use God’s children for his own gain.
(And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king inquired of
them, he found them ten times better than tall the magicians and
astrologers that were in all his realm.)

The Promise in Holding Genesis 37: 5-10

Read the passage Genesis 37

(v.7- For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf
arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round
about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.)

1. God reveals promises which are given to accomplish His will.
The servant may have little or no knowledge presently of God’s will.

2. God may give His promises well in advance of their occurrence.

3. The full meaning of the promises may not be understood initially by the
recipient but are given as an anchor to his faith.

4. God must  hold the promise in secure hands as well as the one promised to.

5. God’s promises do come to pass as God says, when God determines.
see. Gen. 42: 6, 43: 26, 44: 14,47: 5

6. It is God’s purposes that are presented and preserved.
Gen. 45:7

7. The power of God’s truth is beyond contemplation; it is as God says.
