A Commitment to Keep 2 Timothy 3: 14

Read the passage 2 Timothy 3

(But continue thou in the things which thou has learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;)

1) Trouble comes when a believer neglects the truth he has been taught.

2) Trouble comes when a believer fails to acknowledge the Holy Spirit's preparation for the trial of faith.

3) Trouble comes when a believer bargains future liberties with present carelessnesses.
He doesn't see the need to learn from the present opportunity.

4) Trouble comes when things are only grasped intellectually, and  not implanted in the heart.

5) Trouble comes when a believer is not assured in the faith. not sure of what he believes.

6) Trouble comes when close devotion and attention is not given to the words of Christ.

7) Trouble comes when truths learned are not repeated over and over as truths to literally live by.

Living in Grace Ephesians 2: 10-

Read the passage Ephesians 2

v.8,9 1. God is clearly the author of salvation.
Grace recognizes and reveals salvation to be the action of a sovereign God.

v.8, 92. Grace is God’s choice; it is God’s idea.
Thus, there is a revealing of God’s view of the sinner’s condition, not just a
conclusion of his lostness, but of his worthiness to live. Even more so of his
worthiness to live with Jesus forever, if man would but believe upon Jesus for
salvation.
Such worthiness bearing witness to God’s view of the sinner, which then
balances the reality of man’s unworthiness apart from God.

The righteousness imputed to the believer is an affirmation of the worthiness of
Jesus to which the child of God has been embraced by and is being upheld by.

v.9 3. Man offers only faith; faith which was given to him to believe in Jesus.
Thus, the preservation of salvation as exclusively the work of one, the Lord Jesus
   Christ.

v.10 4. Grace reveals the workmanship of Jesus occurring in the believer’s life.
(For we are His workmanship,  …)
Thus the believer’s identity, purpose, work, satisfaction, direction, rest, security,
destination,… is all settled in Jesus.
Life is centered in Jesus, is about Jesus, is the child of God learning Jesus and
following Him. Jesus is directly involved.

v.10 5. Works of God follow conversion.
(created in Christ Jesus unto good works, )
In v. 9, it is not of works; here in. v. 10 works are not the believer’s works, but
those authored of God in the life of the believer to which the believer responds in
faith.
These are works that come from Jesus. These are works that reveal Jesus is
living in the believer. These are works that the believer could no do on his own.
They reveal Jesus.
Thus, the importance of what we do being authored I Jesus.

v.10 6. God’ s plan in redemption is all inclusive, it includes all that is needed to succeed.
(which God hath before ordained that)
There is an empowerment given in grace. God knew all of this before we were.
The works are taken care of by  the Holy Spirit. They are already established and
authorized and empowered for the child of God to seek after and to follow.

v.10 7. God’s foreordained works define the walk of the child of God.
(that we should walk in them.)
We walk by faith, not by sight. The steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord.
We walk in the light.
Our life is the telling of His story, revealing His way, His honor and glory.
