click to Read the passage: Luke 10  (a new browser window will open)

(Therefore said He unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest.)

Subject is the harvest of lost souls:

1. It is the Lord Jesus’ harvest.
(His harvest)

2. The fields are ripe; the harvest is ready today.
(The harvest)

3. The harvest field is vast.
(is great)

4. Many laborers are needed; many more laborers are needed; there must be
many yet to go.
(but the laborers are few:)

5. Prayer is a vital part of the harvest.
(pray ye therefore)

6. God tells the followers how and what to do and gives the authority to so do.
(pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest)
Jesus is that Lord giving the instruction, encouraging the praying and
answering the prayer of faith as well.

7. God must move upon the heart of the laborer.
(that He would send forth laborers into His harvest.)

(And behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the
prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up
quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.)

            1.            Darkness cannot hide God’s light.

            2.            Evil cannot conceal God’s light.

            3.            Evil doesn’t have God’s light.
Peter had the light, the guards he was chained to didn’t.

            4.            Light is given to reveal Christ’s presence.

            5.            Light is given to show Christ’s deliverance.

            6.            Light is given to reveal Christ’s pathway.

            7.            Light is God’s expression of His purpose.

Evidence of a believer’s love will be manifested:

1. He will love God’s word.
(if a man love me, he will keep my words;)
loves hearing God’s word.

2. He will love obeying God’s word.
(He will keep my words;)
He will love the influence of God’s word on his life, all of it.

3. His life will bear evidence of the Father’s love.
(and my Father will love him)

4. His life (life needs) will be met by the Father and Son’s presence.
(and we will come unto Him,)

5. His life will be blessed by the fellowship of the Father and Son’s abiding presence.
(and made our abode with him.)

6. His life allows no evidence of dishonor or of not being committed to God’s
message of truth.   V. 24
(He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings.)

7. He realizes the absolute harmony between the Father and Son and respects
(reverences) it.   V.24
(the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Gather’s who sent me.)

Unless God Moves Psalms 60: 11

click to Read the passage: Psalms 60  (a new browser window will open)

(Give us help from trouble:  for vain is the help of man.)

                           Unless God moves:

            1.            The problems will continue.

            2.            Men will continue to usurp control.

            3.            Hurts and misunderstandings will continue.

            4.            Those sensitive to God will be oppressed by those insensitive to God.

            5.            The work of the Lord will be hindered.

            6.            The efforts of man are futile.

            7.            The servant of God waits.

To fail in waiting is to be impatient and to reap anxieties and fear.
Frustration sets in, willfulness follows, works of the flesh are pursued.
Men try to make man better.

Waits in trust; waits in grief; waits to know, to understand why, waits for God’s justice;.
This is ultimate waiting- the ultimate trial.
In waiting the servant learns wisdom, faith,: and how much he needs God; the necessity of God to work, the necessity of God’s honor, the necessity of God being God.

Evil as a Conglomerate Nahum 1: 11-13

click to Read the passage: Nahum 1  (a new browser window will open)

1)  Evil sponsors further evil; an evil city or governing body sponsors other evil conduct.
(v 11 there is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the Lord,  a wicked counselor.)

2)  Evil doesn’t act alone.

3)  Wickedness seeks others to carry out its deeds, succeeding in misleading the unwary.
(v. 11 a wicked counselor)

4)  Evil cannot hide nor mask its presence as against God.
(v 12 Thus saith the Lord; Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus)

5)  Whether few or many, all evil doers are enemies of God.
(v 12- and likewise many, yet thus)

6)  All of evil shall be cut down by God.
(v 12- Yet thus shall they be cut down, when He shall pass through.)

7)  The hold the enemy thinks he has on God’s people is broken.
(v. 13- For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.)

God upholds His own people.
