go and bury my father.)

v.60 2. There is a path that leads to life.
(Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach
the kingdom of God.)

v.60 3. Followers of God have a clear priority.

v.61 4. God’s will cannot be put off or placed in a line of possibilities.
(And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them
farewell, which are at home at my house.)

v.61 5. Followers of God must put Jesus before the closest of relationships.
see also 8: 21; 12: 52, 53

v.62 6. Followers of God are to have no plan of retreat- no turning back.
(And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and
looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.)

v. 62 7. The kingdom of God is of highest significance- of highest example.
