Can Jesus Help? John 2 1-11

Read the passage: John 2

Can Jesus Help? John 2: 1-11

v.2, 3 1. Jesus does get involved in very ordinary matters.
(And both Jesus was called, and His disciples, to the marriage.)
(And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto Him, They have no wine.) ...

v.6, 7 2. Jesus knows how to resolve issues.
(And there set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.) (approx. 10 gal each.)
(Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them to the brim.)

v.7 3. Jesus knows the components needed to complete the task.

v.4 4. Jesus may be appealed to.
(Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.)
This was Jesus’ mother.

v.6, 11 5. Jesus does receive glory, the glory due unto His name.
(This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth His glory; and His disciples believed on Him.)
It is not just a future event. It is not tied only to/in the work of salvation.
He desired men to believe in Him and follow Him.
Jesus does desire us to trust Him in every area of life as the WAY, TRUTH, LIFE.

v.8-10 6. It is what Jesus does that matters, not what man does.
(And He saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. and they bare it.
(When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew:) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,)
(And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth the good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse; but thou hast kept the good wine until now.)

v.5 7. Whatsoever Jesus says unto you, do it.
(His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it.)

v.40- 2.Ministry is His priority.
(Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto Him; and ...)

v.42- 3.The message clearly is of the need for Christ; He alone can save the soul and can keep the heart of man from conflict.
(And when it was day, He departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought Him, ...)

v.43 4.Christ makes Himself known and available to people anywhere and everywhere; all have need for the saving grace of Christ.

He is sent of the Father.

v.44 5.Truth is proclaimed to the waiting heart.
(And He preached in the synagogues of Galilee.)

5: 1, 6.Christ doesn't remove Himself or His truth from people but presents the truth to people.
   2
(And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon Him to hear the word of God, He stood by the lake of Gennesaret,)(And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.)

v.3 7.Christ visits as a teacher gently guiding pupils to truth, the truth of salvation, and the truths in salvation.
(And He entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from land. And He sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.)

And they began to be merry. 32It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
