How Dead is Dead? Romans 6 6-8, 10

Read the passage: Romans 6

(Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him,) (now if we be dead with Christ,)
  1. You can entice the eye, but it won’t see.

  2. You can shout an appeal, but it won’t hear.

  3. You can appeal to the emotion, but it won’t respond.

  4. You can provoke to anger, but it won’t get angry.

  5. You can hurt it, but it won’t cry out.

  6. You can wrong it, but it won’t get offended; it has no right.

  7. You can bind it, but it can’t be bound; its source of life is Christ.
v.8, 10- it is free to live in Christ, death of the old self allows new life to follow--new life must come for true life to exist.
(Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe we shall also live with Him) (but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God.)
