Christ's Teachings-Offenses Luke 17 1, 2

Read the passage: Luke 17

v.1 1. Offenses visit man’s experience.
(Then said He unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offenses will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!)
Strong's concordance-1625- offense- trap, stumbling block

v.1 2. Some offenses are worse inasmuch as they provoke another to stumble.

v.2 3. God has special consideration for the tenderness of little ones.
(It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, that that he should offend one of these little ones.)

v.2 4. God knows if their faith is harmed at a young age, they may stumble and fall and never follow Jesus.

v.1 5. It will be grievous to the offender of little ones.
woe=grief

v.2 6. The life of such an offender will be filled with despair and misery and could as soon be ended, but is not so easily terminated.

7. Ultimately such an offender meets the God of these little ones.
