Read the passage Luke 20
v.22 1. No love, nor care for the individual.
(Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?)
v.22 2. No rule above the state.
3. No promotion above state interests.
4. No fixed standards.
v.24 5. No concern for true justice.
(Show me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They
answered and said Caesar’s.)
for just weights and standards; in fact, this is not possible without fixed
standards
v.24 6. No conviction, no truth recognized but the state is truth.
v.25 7. No hope, no deliverance, only increasing bondage.
(And He said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be
Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.)
