v.6 1. Our capacity for sin is gone.

(our old man is crucified with Him,)

v.6 2. The hold of sin is gone.

(that the body of sin might be destroyed,)

v.6 3. The desire to sin is gone.

(that henceforth we should not serve sin.)

v.6 4. The master of sin is gone.

(we should not serve sin)

v.7 5. The life of sin is gone.

(for he that is dead)

v.7 6. The penalty of sin is gone.

(freed from sin)

v.8, 7. The life now living is life in Christ.

  10 (Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him,)
