The Barrenness of the Cross Matthew 27: 28-35

v.28 1. Humiliating, degrading.
(and they stripped Him,)

v.28 2. Honorless.
(and put on  Him a scarlet robe)

v.29 3. A crown of provocation.
(And when they had plaited a crown of thorns, they put it upon His head,)

v 29 4. Disdaining His rule.
(and a reed in His right hand 

v.29 5. Mocking His deity.
(and they bowed the knee before Him, and mocked Him, saying Hail, King of the Jews!)

v.30, 6. Despising His person.
(And they spit upon Him, …)

v.35 7. Disregarding totally His message.
(And they crucified Him,_)
