v.1 1. God’s patterns are often imitated by the men of the world.
(And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me
here seven oxen and seven rams.)

v.1 2. The power is not in the procedure but in the hand of God who orders the
steps of His people.
v.1 3. The prescription of God may be perfect, but it requires the presence of God
in the conduct of that which God prescribes to have His perfection.
(seven …,)

v.6 4. Men expect God’s  work is like a formula, that if followed serves the
purpose of men.
(And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and
all the princes of Moab.)

v.14 5. When man’s methods fail (what he thinks is God’s way) , he just tries again.
(And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built
seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.)

v.15 6. Those having only outward religious purport, can easily persuade the
undiscerning that their actions are quite right with God.
(And he said unto Balak, Stand here by thy burnt offering, while I meet the
Lord yonder.)
He pretended to be meeting with God.

v.29, 7. The actions of the unbelieving never gain the attention of God.
30 (And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me
here seven bullocks and seven rams.)
(And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bullock and a ram on
every altar.)
