An Untroubled Heart John 14 1-6

Read the passage: John 14

v.1 1. A believer's heart need not be troubled by events of life unforeseen and unchangeable. Jesus sees that heart.
(Let not your heart be troubled)

v.1 2. There is available to the believer a vast record of truth to rest upon and be secured by.
(ye believe in God,)

v.1 3. Attributing to Christ all that is revealed from scripture is the foundation for dealing with troublings.
(ye believe in God, believe also in me.)

v.1 4. Believing must go beyond acceptance of Biblical facts; putting one's life in the hands and heart of Christ is required by God.
(believe also in me.)

v.2 5. The greatest troublings are those which relate to life after this life, death is feared; even more is feared what comes thereafter.
(In my Father's house are many mansions)

The disciples are concerned with what happens now that Jesus is to be gone. Some troublings would come from the loss of Christ's physical leadership. They see the loss as greater than that.

v.2 6. To learn of the great provision of the Father's house is a start in gaining relief from troublings. This is a spiritual focus.

v.2 7. Jesus has revealed truth to guard from any and all troublings. Truth sets free.
(if it were not so, I would have told you.)

v.3 8. The testimony of Jesus awaits the future of the believer.
(And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again)

v.3 9. All scripture is fulfilled in Jesus.
(that where I am, there ye may be also.)

v.6 10. The irrevocable commitment of Christ is presently invoked in all issues of life.
(I am the way, the truth and the life ... )
Great life long security ensues to the child of God.
