Read the passage: Ruth 2
v.2 1. Following the example and privilege of scripture.
(And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean
ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she)
Scripture provided for the role of kinsman.
Ruth, however was not in this place. Naomi was. Ruth was following Naomi’s
faith.
v.2 2. Getting into position to be blessed by scripture.
(Let us now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight)
v.2 3. Seeking for the blessedness of God’s promise.
(in whose sight I shall find grace.)
The need recognized in faith- for God’s mercy and grace.
v.2 4. Waiting for affirmation of rightness.
(And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.)
v.3 5. Proceeding upon the course of God’s direction.
(And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her
hap)
v.3 6. Guided by God’s hand.
(and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of
the kindred of Elimelech.)
v.7 7. Placing outcomes in the hands of the promiser, the all sufficient One.
(And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the
sheaves; so she came, and hath continued even from the morning until now,
that she tarried a little in the house.)
