The Blessing of Leftovers-II Mark 8 8

Read the passage: Mark 8

(So they did eat and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets.)
Where there is more than enough.

1. It reveals God’s unlimited capacity though we see limited opportunity.
(v.4-From whence can a man satisfy these men …)

2. It reveals the ready presence of God’s supply.
(v.7-And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, …)
They didn’t have to work it up; do it out themselves.

3. It reveals God’s greaterness than the greatness of the need(s).

4. It reveals the security of being in Christ’s presence.
The wilderness is no threat if a believer is with Jesus.
It shows the necessity of Christ’s presence in ministry.

5. It reveals the basis of Christ’s invited partaking-grace, and the adequacy of it.
Not all responded-all were extended grace.

6. It reveals the intent of God’s provision- the fullness of men.
Believers need understand this  truth.
John 10: 10

7. It reveals the continuity of man’s need; he cannot survive on leftovers, but must have a fresh supply of God’s provision.
Jesus was revealing Himself to be the bread of life; the sustainer of man’s heart.
Man couldn’t make it happen again.
There was no formula left, only the person of Jesus revealed.
