The Work God Does Psalms 85: 1-7

v.1 1. Gives His favor.

(Lord, thou hast been favorable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the 

captivity of Jacob.)

v.2 2. Forgives sin.

(Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. 

Selah.)

v.2 3. Forgives His people.

v.3 4. Turns away from His wrath.

(Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness

of thine anger.)

v.4 5. Turns the hearts of His people towards Himself.

(Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.)

V.5 6. Cuts off His anger over His people’s rebellion.

(Wilt thou be angry with us forever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to al

l generations?)

v.6 7. Revives the Spirit of His people.

(Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?)

v.6 8. Sparks joy again in His people.

v.7 9. Shows mercy to His people.

(Shew us thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us thy salvation.)

v.7 10. Grants deliverance to His people.
