( ... but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth
at my word.)

1) One that can't help himself.
(poor)
One who can help himself will be trying to.

2) One that doesn't try to buy off God.
(poor) ".
Recognizes he has nothing to buy with- to impress God with; trying to convince God to
accept them the way they are.

3) One that has nothing of his own to impress the world with.
(poor)
poor in spirit Matt. 5:3
has need; acknowledges his need; responds to the provider.

4) One who doesn't try to outsmart God.
(contrite)
doesn’t maneuver or manipulate or go around God- doesn’t rationalize.

5) One who is broken before God.
(of a contrite spirit)

6) One who pride cannot persuade to follow.
(contrite spirit)
filled with humility and grace

7) One who fears not man, but God.
 (and trembleth)
doesn’t fear events in the world- worry over economics, health, etc.

8) One who knows when God is speaking and dares not challenge it.
(and trembleth)

9) One who makes God's word his priority.
 (and trembleth at my word)
To many people God can’t look at today because they don’t make God’s word
 a priority.

10) One who counts God's word as the final authority in his life.
(and trembleth at my word.)
Doesn’t debate it; looks no place else.
