Read the passage Ephesians 5
1. Accept the mate God has chosen for you and given to you.
Quit trying to change them- to remake them.
2. Work together on agreement.
Amos 3: 3
3. It really matters where your trust is and where your confidence lies.
It must be in Jesus, the Jesus in you and the Jesus in your mate.
4. It is really an extension of the basics.
Who you are in Christ; believer’s security; prayer; scriptural conformity;
shared faith and trust; abiding in Christ; purity of heart; loving God with all
your heart, mind, and soul; …
All the things that make you personally a better Christian make you a better
mate.
5. Contribute great love and patience.
Value the relationship of husband and wife more than the many activities of
life’s participation.
6. Don’t impose unreasonable conditions upon your mate.
false accusations, ridicule, belittling, comparisons, requiring more of your mate
that he/she can give.
7. Keep the main thing the main thing; that which matters most- your marriage.
reject the competition.
Your marriage will survive all other challenges if Christ is followed after.
