Read the passage: Luke 11
(And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save
one, that is, God.)
-
No man can claim goodness.
-
To claim goodness is to usurp God’s position of good.
-
To lie against the truth is to fall on the truth in judgment.
-
The character of good is applicable only to the one who redeems man
from his sin.
-
The one trapped in sin could never be called good.
-
Apart from the goodness of the Lord, there is no increase possible to man’s
life
.
-
The term good is restricted to the work and person of deity; it is not man’s
description at all.
It is not to be misapplied by men.
