Read the passage Luke 5
v.6 1. His is no little supply.
(And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes:)
2. His provision is unduplicatable by men, including believers.
(and their net brake.)(v.7- and filled both ships, so that they began to sink.)
3. The heart of the believer is drawn so as to desire Christ, not just the
physical need.
(they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.)
v.7 4. The goodness of Christ is gladly shared; profound truths are easy to share.
(And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that
they should come and help them.)
Christ’s goodness is to be shared.
v.7 5. The provision of Christ is so overwhelming; it overflows into ministry.
(and they came, and filled both the ships,)
v.7 6. The container of faith is to be prepared for an abundant reply of God.
(and filled both ships,)
v.8 7. The generosity of God brings a believer to the knees of humility because
of God’s undeserved goodness and the believer’s undeservedness.
(When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart
from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.)
