Read the passage: Luke 1
(And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, his name is John. And
thy marveled all. And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue
loosed, and he spake, and praised God.)
-
He was convinced of God’s revealed truth.
-
He was fully desirous of God being acknowledged and getting glory.
-
He possessed God’s blessing upon his impossibility. see v. 18
-
He lost his argument against God and God’s word. see v. 18
That is great wisdom.
-
His heart was readied to respond to truth, in truth.
-
His heart was conformed to God’s will.
That is what chastening does where instruction has not been heeded.
v.64 7. His tongue was loosed to proclaim the great riches of God.
