v.17 1. The devil is committed to his misdeeds.
(But He, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided
against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house
falleth.)
v.17 2. The devil is permitted by God in his time to continue.
The devil’s fall has not occurred yet. (falleth)
v.18 3. The devil rules out division in his own camp.
(If satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand?
because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.)
v.19 4. The devil seeks to work without people’s knowledge he is working and
using them.
(And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out?
therefore shall they be your judges.)
v.19 5. The devil typically blames others for evil’s work.
v.19 6. The devil depends upon a cloud of deception to hide his deeds.
v.17 7. The devil will be brought to desolation and an end forever.
