v.25 1. Vessels not abandoned.
(Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary
the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.)
v.26 2. Loyalty still affectioned.
(When Jesus therefore saw His mother,)
v.26 3. Natural love unabated.
(His mother, and the disciple standing by, whom He loved, He saith unto His
mother, Woman, behold thy son!)
v.26 4. Hurts acknowledged.
(He saith unto His mother, Woman, behold thy son!)
In preference to His deity, He still acknowledges human need.
He refers to His mother as woman.
v.26 5. Physical needs obviated.
(Woman, behold thy son!)
v.26, 6. Physical needs provided.
27 (Then saith He to the disciple, Behold thy mother!)
v.27 7. Grace continued.
(And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.)
